Tom Keifer at Iroquois Amphitheater in Louisville, KY 28-AUG-25

Tom Keifer Ignites Louisville with Raw Emotion and Rock Royalty Swagger!

As the sun dipped behind the trees of Iroquois Park on Thursday, August 28th, the historic Iroquois Amphitheater came alive with the unmistakable pulse of rock ‘n’ roll. The air was thick with anticipation and late-summer warmth as fans packed the open-air venue, kicking off Labor Day weekend with a lineup that felt like a love letter to classic hard rock — headlined by none other than Tom Keifer, the voice of Cinderella, making his long-awaited return to the stage.

Emerging to thunderous applause, Keifer and his band — featuring Savannah Keifer, Tony Higbee, Billy Mercer, Jarred Pope, Kory Myers, and Tanya Davis — launched into a set that was equal parts gritty blues-rock and soaring arena anthems. Despite a few early technical hiccups, Keifer quickly found his stride, his voice sounding more powerful and nuanced than ever. “I’m a little nervous,” he confessed early in the set, “It’s been a while.” But from the first note, it was clear: Keifer hadn’t missed a beat.

The evening expertly blended solo material with Cinderella classics, each song delivered with grit, soul, and unmistakable authenticity. Tracks from The Way Life Goes and Rise showcased Keifer’s evolution as a songwriter, with “Solid Ground” and “Death of Me” hitting hard both musically and lyrically. But it was the Cinderella cuts that truly lit up the night including “The More Things Change,” “Coming Home,” “Bad Seamstress Blues/Fallin’ Apart at the Seams” and “Nobody’s Fool”. When Savannah joined Tom at the piano for “Don’t Know What You Got (Till It’s Gone),” the amphitheater fell into a hushed reverence, the crowd swaying as Keifer’s voice cracked with emotion. It was a moment of pure magic — intimate, nostalgic, and deeply human.

The energy surged as the band ripped into “Shake Me” and “Shelter Me” to close the main set, the crowd erupting in a frenzy of cheers, dancing, and air guitar solos. Keifer’s voice — raspy, powerful, and unmistakably his — cut through the night like a blade. Every note felt earned, every lyric lived. A Two song encore set beginning with mega fan favorite “Gypsy Road” and ending with a fiery Beatles cover “With a Little Help From My Friends” in a Joe Cocker type style put a giant exclamation point on an unforgettable evening. As the final chords rang out and the band took their bows, the crowd lingered, reluctant to let go of a night that felt like a celebration of everything rock ‘n’ roll stands for: resilience, passion, and connection. Tom Keifer didn’t just return, he reminded us why we fell in love with this music in the first place.

Providing the main support this evening was L.A. Guns, delivering the Sunset Strip Swagger in Full Force. L.A. Guns took the stage like a freight train barreling through the amphitheater. With Tracii Guns wielding his guitar like a flamethrower and Phil Lewis commanding the mic with the swagger of a man who’s lived every lyric, the band delivered a blistering set that reminded everyone why they’ve endured since 1983. Backed by Ace Von Johnson, Johnny Martin, Adam Hamilton, and Shawn Duncan, the group tore through classics like “Electric Gypsy,” “Sex Action,” and “Rip and Tear” with ferocity and finesse. The chemistry between Guns and Lewis was electric — a masterclass in rock showmanship. The crowd, a mix of die-hard fans and curious newcomers, responded with fists in the air and voices raised in unison.

Opening the evening was Close Enemies, a band whose pedigree reads like a who’s who of rock royalty. Tom Hamilton (Aerosmith) anchored the group on bass, joined by Tony Brock (The Babys) on drums, Peter Stroud (Sheryl Crow) on guitar, Trace Foster, and vocalist Chasen Hampton. Their set was tight, polished, and emotionally resonant — especially when they performed their newest single, “More Than I Could Ever Need.” Written as a tribute to Hamilton’s wife Terry, the song shimmered with heartfelt lyrics and lush instrumentation, a rare moment of tenderness that still managed to rock.
