Vince Neil at The Kentucky State Fair in Louisville, KY 24-AUG-23

Vince Neil takes no prisoners with a scorching performance at the Kentucky State Fair with Autograph.

Who doesn’t love the Fair?  The Texas Roadhouse Concert series at the Kentucky State fair annually brings a wide and far-reaching line-up of artists and genres to its stage – This evening It’s metal night with Vince Neil and Autograph.

The Last time Kentuckians had a chance to see Vince Neil or Mötley Crüe was at the Kentucky State Fair in 2019.  Mötley Crüe was still “Officially” retired although rumors were swirling that their “Retirement” was about to end, and fans flocked to the Texas Roadhouse Concert series stage for one last chance to relive the Mötley Crüe spirit. Now fast forward 4 years, Covid-19 struck, Mötley Crüe surprisingly came out of retirement and have been touring extensively with Def Leppard on the “Stadium Tour” and Vince Neil returns to The Kentucky State Fair and the same Texas Roadhouse Concert stage. On what was the hottest day of the year in the Commonwealth (The heat index topped 107 a tad before gates opened) fans again flocked to The Fair to get their Crüe On!

While the Stadium tour is between runs, Crüe frontman Vince Neil (looking super and sounding great), along with an All-Star line-up featuring Slaughter band members Dana Strum on bass, drummer extraordinaire Zoltan Chaney and guitarist Jeff Blando are doing their best to keep the Crüe fires burning brightly. The evening was chock full of Crüe hits starting off with “Dr. Feelgood” followed by “Shout At The Devil” and “Looks that Kill”. Despite the sweltering heat, fans stretching as far as you could see were on their feet, singing and fist pumping right along with the guys on stage.

A highlight of the set was the guys cover of Led Zepplin’s “Whole Lotta Love”, I mean, who doesn’t love a raucous Led Zeppelin song, right? The evening ended just as fast as it started with blazing renditions of Crüe classics “Girls, Girls, Girls” and “Wild Side” and finally “Kickstart My Heart” closing an awesome night of classic metal and leaving enthusiastic fans sweaty thoroughly satisfied!

Opening the evening was platinum-selling Southern California hard rockers Autograph. Featuring frontman and guitarist Simon Daniels along with guitarist Jimi Bell, drummer Marc Wieland and Metal Church bassist Steve Unger, Autograph rolled through a solid 45-minute set of originally songs, culminating with their anthem like hit “Turn Up The Radio”
