Highly Suspect at Manchester Music Hall in Lexington, KY 21-FEB-23

Highly Suspect thrills enthusiastic fans in Lexington with electric evening.

It sure feels like 2023 is going to be “The year of Live Music”! Only 50 days into the 2023 and there have already been some incredible tours crisscrossing the US, none of which has been hotter than Highly Suspect’s Ice Cold Winter tour.  The 29 show tour run which started in Fort Lauderdale, FL on February 3rd has sold out the first 11 dates and this evening’s stop at Lexington’s Manchester Music Hall ran the sellout count to an even dozen!

The buzz and excitement inside the venue reached its crescendo as the house lights dropped as twin brothers Rich (bass, backing vocals) and Ryan Meyer (drums, backing vocals), Johnny Stevens (guitar, lead vocals), and Matt Kofos (guitar, synthesizer, backing vocals) took their places on stage.  Basked in a flood of deep red lights Highly Suspect steamrolled through their opening songs “Bath Salts,” “Mom,” “Bloodfeather” from their debut 2015 album Mister Asylum had the Lexington fans singing right along with the guys.

Not much for on stage banter this evening, which didn’t bother anyone in the crowd, Johnny Stevens kept the pedal down the entire evening with a series of songs from the bands latest studio album Midnight Demon Club and Mega hits “Lydia” and “My Name is Human”.   Highly Suspect closed the evening with a 2 song encore beginning with “Look Alive, Stay Alive” before closing with a stirring rendition of “Pink Lullabye” leaving the sold out crowd happy and through satisfied!

Opening the evening was LA by way of Boston based alt-rock band Dead Poet Society (DPS).  Coming off a monster year in 2022 which saw the band release their debut album -!- (said as “The Exclamation Album.”) which accumulated over 53 million global streams, with nearly 21 million streams in the U.S. alone. The band also enjoyed two Top 15 singles at radio and key playlisting.

Ripping through a high energy set of songs predominately from the aforementioned -!- album, DPS brought and left everything they had on stage including  front man Jack Underkofler crowd surfing the sold out crowd during .intoodeep.

Dead Poet Society are: Jack Underkofler (vocals/guitar), Jack Collins (guitar), Will Goodroad (drums) and Dylan Brenner (bass)
