Rivals blast Louisville with a powerhouse set with Dragged Under, Aryia and Grasslands
Alternative Dark Pop-Rock group, Rivals are currently on a long, sweeping tour with Seattle, Washington based American punk rock Dragged Under. The tour kicked off on August 22nd in Detroit, Mi and before the last show in Anaheim, CA goes off, the tour will cover 25 shows and 16 states during the 30 day run.
Fronted by the charismatic Kalie Wolfe along with demonstrative bassist Sebastian Clarke, guitarist Micket Woodle and drummer and Josh Alves, Rivals came blasting onto the Zanzabar stage and straight into their opener “Alkaline” and a new song about breaking generational trauma “bleeding star”.
Kalie has some kind of a special voice which was on full display as she rolled through “Dangerous”, a song about becoming my own god, “Thunderstorms” a song about giving up playing live music before closing their time in Louisville with the hot, Tiktok tending “Dark Matter”. After the set it was great to see Kalie and Sebastian sign posters and take pictures with the long line of fans (both old and newly garnered). Keep an eye out for Rivals as they close out 2022 and charge headfirst into 2023!
Along with Rivals and Dragged under, Columbus, OH based Grasslands opened the evening with a solid set of original music and a lively and energetic set by Los Angeles based Aryia that had the crowd thoroughly engaged.
