The Josephines at the Burl in Lexington, KY 08-AUG-22

The Josephines shake, rattle, and roll The Burl in Lexington with the Bedford Band.

It almost seemed fitting that just as The Josephines took to The Burl stage, mother nature unleashed her fury with a wicked storm of lightning and thunder on Lexington.  Fitting because inside the venue, The Josephines were doing the same thing to an enthusiastic roomful of fans who were ready to party.  It had been almost 15 months since The Josephines last played The Burl in Lexington (that show, on May 29th was also bassist Lee Williams first with the band) and the guys were more than ready for the evening.

With a mason jar full of “Lemonade” and a roaring whooo!!! from front man Brad Tabor The Josephines wasted no time launching into a wild, high energy set.  Along the way several fan favorites came pouring from the stage including “Bayou Baby,” “Set Me On Fire” and “Broadway” along with a couple of new songs “Cherokee Wind” and “Hey Mama”.  As the evening rolled along and the “lemonade” in the mason jar slowly disappeared the intensity both on stage and in the crowd ramped up as “Satansfield” and finally “Fireball” closed out an outstanding evening.

After the set the guys happily moved to the merch table where they interacted and took pictures with fans, completing a memorable evening fort everyone in attendance.

The Josephines are Brad Tabor (lead vocals, acoustic guitar, mandolin), Zach Lindsey (lead guitar, vocals), Alex Lindsey (lead guitar, pedal steel, lap steel, vocals), bassist Lee Williams, and David Page (drums, percussion).

Opening this evening were Morehead Kentucky based rockers Bedford Band.  Their Soul infused rock definitely resonated with the fans at The Burl as they played a number of songs from their most recent album A Trip Into the Sun. Bedford band is drummer Tristan Frazier, guitarists Kolby Swiney and Trevor St John’s along with bassist Samuel May.
