In this Moment at The Louisville Palace in Louisville, KY 07-MAY-2019

In this Moment delivers a mesmerizing ‘celebration’ for willing Louisville metallers with Sevendust and Light The Torch.

For some folks in Louisville, the biggest event of the year was the Kentucky Derby but…. The people in the know were focused on the Tuesday after the Derby as In This Moment brought their ‘Celebration’ the Louisville Palace.

In This Moment brings more than just a metal show to the stage.  This is an incredibly theatrical performance both musically and visually, creating a spectacle that grabs you from the opening chords of the opening song and refuses to let go.

After a slight technical issue was rectified at the front of the stage the house lights dropped and the jam-packed crowd is immediately on their feet as the stage length curtain falls and fans get their first glimpse of the stage. Dressed in an all-black, full-length robe and towering high above the stage, Maria Brink and In This Moment launch into their opening song, a unique cover of Steve Miller’s “Fly Like an Eagle” followed by “River of Fire” and “Adrenalize.”

Over the next almost 90-minutes, Maria Brink and the guys deliver one mesmerizing song after another fully engulfing your senses with a light show that seemingly grows as the show progresses. Cloaked in sinister attire, makeup, and masks, the band itself, Chris Howorth with lead guitar, Randy Weitzel on guitar, Travis Johnson on bass, and Kent Diimmel on drums, complete the visual spectacle of In This Moment’s performance.

Louisville Setlist: “Tear You Apart” (She Wants Revenge Song) & “Salvation” intro Tape, “Fly Like An Eagle” (Steve Miller Band cover), “River of Fire,” “Adrenalize,” “Roots” (with Witching Hour intro), “Natural Born Sinner,” “Lay Your Gun Down,” a new version of “Monster Jam” (with We Will Rock You & Don’t Stop Believing),  “Big Bad Wolf,” “In the Air Tonight” (Phil Collins cover), “The Infection” (Tape), “Sick Like Me,” “Blood” and Encore: “Whore” (with Natural Born Sinner Intro).

Providing the main support this evening was Atlanta based rockers Sevendust.  The love affair between Louisville fans and Sevendust is a strong one, going back to performances at the Louder Than Life Festivals.  The guys didn’t waste a minute of their time on stage this evening, blasting into their hit song “Dirty,” followed by “Face to Face” and “Denial” and their set was off to a rocket start.  Over the course of their all too short set, Sevendust treated fans to smoking performances of “Enemy” and “Bitch,” before ending with “Thank You” from the album Kill The Flaw.

Opening the evening with a bang was Los Angeles based Light The Torch. The  group, formerly known as Devil You Know, features the iconic Howard Jones (ex-Killswitch Engage) on vocals, Francesco Artusato (ex-All Shall Perish) on guitars and Ryan Wombacher (ex-Bleeding Through) on bass rolled through a great set including “Calm Before The Storm” from their newly released album Revival.
