Atreyu Blitzes Lexington with an over the top performance with locals Stromtoker and Gotcha.
Huntington Beach, CA Metalcore pioneers Atreyu closed out their 20 show 26-day run Spring Invasion Tour with a bang for a solid group of Lexington Metal fans. Touring in support of their latest album, In our Wake, Arteyu is gearing up for a busy summer. After a short run of European shows, they return stateside to take part in one of the summer’s biggest tours, the inaugural Disrupt Tour traveling festival.
Opening with their hit single from the In Our Wake Album, “The Time is Now”, Atreyu served notice that tonight’s show was going to be a burner. Without taking a moment to catch their breath a couple of older fan favorites “Right Side of The Bed” and “Becoming the Bull” come blasting from the stage with furious energy. Accentuating the overall onstage spectacle was a dazzling light show that was meant to completely overwhelm your senses.
Over the next 60 plus minutes, Atreyu dishes out a little something for everyone including the heavy classic “Bleeding Mascara,” Falling Down” and “Blow” along with a ripping cover of Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name” leaving enthusiastic Lexington thoroughly satisfied.
It’s always great to see local bands getting a chance in the spotlight and tonight was no different. Local promoter Terry Harper always seems to get the perfect local groups together. Providing the main support this evening were local Lexington Sludge/Stoner Thrash Power Trio Stormtoker, and opening the show were Lexington, KY-based Metal/Hard rockers Gotcha. Both groups tore through sets of original songs that everyone seemed to be into.
