Ann Wilson at Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, OH Gallery

Ann Wilson walked onto the Riverbend Music Center without any fanfare with the rest of her band and dove straight in with a blazing version of The Who’s “The Real Me” followed by Heart’s “Barracuda.” The crowd barely knew what hit them.

The balance of her all to short time on stage was spent performing songs from her upcoming record Immortal, to be released on September 15th. Immortal it is a collection of songs by that long list of artists who have recently left us, all of whom had an influence on Ann Wilson in some way. Chris Cornell’s “I Am The Highway”, Glen Frey’s “Life in the Fast Lane”, Lesley Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me” and The Who‘s “Won’t Get Fooled Again” were done with arrangements that showcased Wilson’s incomparable vocal ability and the audience was on their feet with approval.
